REPORTER

The Opportunity
Community Care helps social workers stay up to date with the latest and most significant developments in practice, law, and policy to help them to change lives for the better and flourish in their careers. We also support social work employers and leaders to recruit and retain high-quality practitioners and develop their staff to the best of their abilities.
To give you an idea of how this editorial role would look and feel, here are some of the rewarding things you can expect to do:
- Write daily news on issues relating to social work including recruitment and retention, terms and conditions, staff wellbeing, regulation, and policy.
- Deliver regular longer-form pieces on key developments and good practice and innovation in social work.
- Commission and edit pieces from social workers, managers, and expert commentators, and cultivate and maintain regular contributors.
- Actively use social media to source news and drive engagement to our content from our audience.
- Support the wider work of the Community Care content team, including in relation to producing events for the social work sector.

We'd love to hear from you, especially if you've 18 months of experience as a news journalist.
There is a really strong focus on our readers and ensuring what we publish is useful and informative to them. You will thrive in this role in this role if you enjoy interviewing, fact-checking, writing, engaging copy, editing, proofreading, designing, plus learning, and finding out new ways of delivering high-quality content.

Flexible working: 2 days in the office, 3 remote. This role is based from our Sutton office
