Early Years Educator (EYE) supports all practitioners working with under-fives to improve their practice and help young children to thrive, via a monthly magazine and website. Its audience is passionate about giving young children the best possible start in life through high quality education and care.
We can offer you continuous learning and development, flexible working, and a salary of up to £35,000 plus benefits.
To give you an idea of how this role would look and feel, here are some of the rewarding things you can expect to do:
Work closely with the highly respected team to deliver podcasts, webinars, and supplements above and beyond the magazine and website ensuring the publication is produced on time and within budget
Provide case studies, special features, in-depth policy analysis, qualifications and training updates, international comparisons, and practical activity ideas for your readers
Commission high quality articles responsive to the needs of the early years sector
Interviewing, fact-checking, writing clear engaging copy, copy editing, and proofreading
Work closely with the publication’s editorial board to help shape the schedule of content
Schedule and share all articles across all social media platforms, namely Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, and promote each new issue via social media channels through video content
Source appropriate images and commission cover shoots
Work with design team to produce compelling magazine layouts
Keep the website up to date including formatting and publishing magazine content, including keywords to assist SEO
Edit and produce sponsored content, including articles, podcasts and webinars
Put together fortnightly e-bulletins

You'll also love forming close working relationships with freelance contributors and colleagues in the wider publishing team

Checking the detail. Attention to detail with the ability to work calmly under pressure and meet multiple deadlines
Using social media effectively to expand the publication’s reach, identify key influencers and engage with the early year's sector through multiple platforms

How are we working at the moment?
We are offering flexible working, a hybrid model. We are working in the office 2 days a week (if you want to work from the office for more than 2 days you are most welcome)
For the first couple of weeks, we would like you to come into the office so we can make sure you settle into your new role.
