I have received such a warm welcome and have been very well supported by my colleagues at MA Business, and the wider Mark Allen Group, despite the strangeness of being recruited in a pandemic, and working remotely. I look forward to a long and successful career within the company

My career at Mark Allen Group has been very successful, largely thanks to my team's support. Despite the challenges of starting a new role remotely, the support from my colleagues has ensured we’ve been able to make a great start in launching Electric & Hybrid Rail Technology and I cannot wait to publish the first issue in July. It’s exciting to be part of such an ambitious company who are not just content with strengthening its existing portfolio but also looking to introduce new media platforms connecting specialist audiences within dynamic industries

Jo is the editor of HR magazine and is based in our London office. Jo moved down to London from The North after graduating with First-Class Honours from Sheffield University, where she started a career on the graduate scheme at Mark Allen. When not writing about the world of work and its many complexities, Jo likes to spend time training her unruly dog Nora. She also loves a good book, yoga, baking, cycling and a good meme.

Andrew is the editor of Farmers Weekly – one of the most recent titles to join Mark Allen. Until the coronavirus outbreak Andrew worked at Quadrant House in Sutton but now spends his days working on the magazine from home. Farmers Weekly either hires journalists and teaches them about farming, or farmers and teaches them how to write – Andrew is one of the latter. He was brought up on a cattle and sheep farm in mid Wales and studied Agriculture at Aberystwyth University. Andrew joined the magazine in 2016 as arable reporter and progressed to deputy business editor in 2018, before becoming editor in 2021. Andrew has since become a member of the MA Agriculture board.

My job is to get content to the end-user. I come up with crazy ideas and execute them via traditional and digital marketing activities. I am continually monitoring data, trends, and the industry so that we can improve our customer experience and provide our users with the latest and most relevant content. I work with a lot of people at Mark Allen, and what makes the company feel like home is that everybody I interact with is awesome, approachable and an expert in their field. The lengths my colleagues will go to to help me progress has allowed me to develop my skills as a marketer but has also given me insight and understanding of the wider business. Behind my calm and collected façade is a multi-coloured eleven-page to-do list that sometimes I do not even understand. I break this down and plan incrementally, so I feel accomplished every day. David Russell, Marketing Manager at MADM and MAH digital resources, has just won a winning place in the PPA 30 under 30, recognising young upcoming talent in media publishing.
